Welcome to the grand opening of the Learning Tree Farm’s Storybook Trail on Saturday, April 30th!!!
We’re excited to announce that the title of our first trail will be…. “Little Dandelion Seeds the World”, By: Julia Richardson. This brightly illustrated story connects children from around the world, on all 7 continents in fact, through one of the most resilient and adaptable plants on Earth, the dandelion. Come learn how this crafty plant travels on the wind and hitches rides in all manner of ways in order to spread its cheery blooms far and wide.
To celebrate the Grand Opening of our Story Book Trail Mrs. Richardson, herself, will be joining us to visit with guests and lead narrated hikes of our inaugural trail! The Storybook Trail is included with your regular paid admission, or annual Family Farm Pass, to the Farm! However, narrated hikes with the author of “Little Dandelion Seeds the World”, Julia Richardson, are limited in size and do require preregistration.
Mrs. Richardson will be at the Farm in the Bank Barn throughout the day from 10am-2pm to visit with all guests and sign copies of her books when she’s not leading hikes on the Storybook Trail. Narrated hikes, for those who pre-register, will be offered at 10am, 11:30am & 1:30pm. (If you register for a hike with the author please check-in at the back porch of the Century Farmhouse 10 minutes before your scheduled time. We will start our hikes on time and wouldn’t want you to miss out on the fun.) Mrs. Richardson will have a limited supply of the book for sale for $13 the day of the event, or if you’d like to pre-order a guaranteed copy you may do so for $13.75 ($13 + online processing fees).
If you have any questions regarding our Grand Opening event, please contact our Education Director, Amy Thompson at amy.thompson@learningtreefarm.org Never fear, if you are unavailable on Saturday, April 30th, the Storybook Trail of “Little Dandelion Seeds the World” will remain open through Sunday, May 15th for you to explore and enjoy at your leisure.
