Homeschool Days
Thursday 01 June 2017, 10:30am - 01:30pm
Contact Meredith Florkey

Learning Tree Farm education staff will be on site this day to dedicate their time exclusively to homeschool families.  Features of our new "The Farm ALIVE!" program will be showcased on this exciting day spent exploring the relationship between living and nonliving things at the farm.

Throughout the day, visitors will use a map and landmarks to determine which direction they should go to visit these animals!   As we visit with the animals in our two barns and observe what is popping up in our extensive garden, we’ll explore how a farm produces many consumer goods for our community.

In our historic Century Farm House, children will use primary documents, pictures, and a timeline to understand the story of the Funderburg family who settled here in Ohio long ago vs. what the farm does today.

Children will play games and participate in activities that will keep them thinking, moving, and working as a team as they practice some of the skills learned on the farm.

At this program your family will:

  • Work with our staff at multiple stations around the farm to identify and explore the many life cycles found on the farm.
  • Visit with all of our farm animals in our barns.
  • Tour the Century House - a historic 1800's era farmhouse.
  • Bring your lunch or snack to enjoy in our covered picnic shelter.
Learning Tree Farm will reduce its normal field trip admission fee for this special program to only $5 per person! Children two and under are free.
